Equipment

Filter - N/A
Two airstones bubble air from an Aqua Culture air pump. The bubbles create a fair bit of flow to the plants and substrate.

Heater - Marineland Stealth Pro (100 watts)
The heater is a fully-submersible unit made of a black composite material. The temperature adjustment knob on top displays the desired temperature and also houses the activity light. The heating element easily slides free of two individual suction cups and automatically shuts down when removed from water.
Lighting - Marineland Double Bright LED 24" - 36"
The strip employs an array of twelve LEDs. It consumes about eight watts of power and emits over six hundred units of PAR. The power switch allows for two modes. “Day” mode activates all twelve LEDs while “night” mode enables only four low-power blue LEDs. Each white LED consumes one watt while all four blue LEDs together consume under half a watt.
Stand – Penn-Plax 20 Gallon Long (31" wide x 13" deep x 30" high)
This stand accommodates two tanks measuring thirty by twelve. Its two rear legs are flat wrought iron while the front pair consists of several pieces of thick-guage wire that curves to the floor. The welds look substantial enough to withstand the load but still hide well beneath the handsome black powder coat.

Tank - Aqueon 20 Gallon Long (30" wide x 12" deep x 12" high)
The tank is nothing to write home about. It’s made of glass and customary black plastic strips bookend the top and bottom of the tank. Being the typical every-man model, the glass has an almost imperceptible turquoise tint from the strengthening process and the silicon bead that seals the panels is only adequately tidy.
The top is a Perfecto Versa-Top from Marineland. The glass allows another viewing angle of the tank that plastic hoods don’t. The rear of the top is clearish plastic sheet which is easily cut and allows more flexibility in the placement of hardware like filters, heaters, etc.
